DUMBFOUNDUS AMONG ACTS TO PLAY IN TOWN CENTRE DURING AUGUST

The brilliant duo Dumbfoundus (pictured above right) who played at StowFest: The Acoustic Sessions and delivered one of the most entertaining performances of the weekend - are set to visit town again. Stowmarket Town Council has organised live music on the market place to take place each Wednesday during August. Performances will take place at 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm and there will be an open air cafe on the marketplace provided by Cafe No. 1. The line-up is:

Wednesday 4th August: Dumbfoundus
Wednesday 11th August: Ipswich Youth Steel Band
Wednesday 18th August: Dumbfoundus
Wednesday 25th August: Swervy World
Wednesday 1st September: Dumbfoundus (EXTRA DATE - NOTE: PERFORMANCES AT 11.30, 12.30 AND 1.30)

GREAT WEEKEND OF MUSIC - COMPLETE WITH "STOWFEST WEATHER"!
Stowmarket enjoyed two days of great music on the 5th and 6th June with the newly launched StowFest: The Acoustic Sessions on Saturday and the Main Event on the 6th. The decision to hold a separate acoustic event rather than have an acoustic stage at the main event paid off with an estimated 700 people attending on the Saturday. An estimated 3000+ people attended the main event on Sunday. Both days were marred by typical StowFest weather with the final act on Saturday - The Back Porch Band - being foced to play their set in the Chilton Fields Sports and Social Club bar. On the Sunday, a massive deluge of rain meant that the final band - Roxoff - were unable to play due to safety concerns (something to do with water and electricity not mixing very well!) Two bands on the Ampliude Stage were also unable to play. There are mutterings of some kind of event featuring those bands that missed out (StowFest: The Sweep Up Sessions??) but nothing has been confirmed, let alone properly discussed, yet. Check back to find out about that one.

CHECK OUT TONY BELL'S PHOTOS OF STOWFEST 2010
Photographer Tony Bell has been in touch to let us know that he took loads of great photos at StowFest. You can find them all here and there are also a few here. Massive thanks to Tony for taking so many great photos and for uploading them to a gallery!

We're extremely grateful to Hudson Signs and PPG who have agreed to jointly sponsor the Main Stage and the Amplitude Stage at this years StowFest and to Birse Civils who are sponsoring The Acoustic Sessions . And we are equally grateful to Old Newton Graphics who have offered their design services as a form of sponsorship. They are currently working on a redesign of the StowFest logo and a logo for Stowmarket Festival. They will also be designing theStowmarket Festival guide.
